21. The World, the Starfish

Like the rotation of the Earth, it is not easy to see the movement of the Starfish. They are slow and deliberate and tough shelled, with the capacity for regrowth. Starfish are not immortal as some legends may suggest, but are capable of regrowing limbs after they have been severed. This painful process does not, however, define the life of the Starfish. Its body, like the spokes of a wheel, are able to navigate over the rough terrain of the ocean floor and complex coral reefs. Life is not always about the struggles, but how you get through them. How you let yourself regrow after a trauma, the patterns that you develop, are all part of your personal experience of this life. You may see patterns grow or stick to a hunting ground out of familiarity for what it can provide. Life goes on, and our wounds help define not only where we have been, but where we want to go as well. Consider your battle scars and the patterns in your life, guiding you without trying to define a destination. This is time to contemplate your body, mind,  spirit, where you are going and what has lead you to this point. Stay strong, this is by no means the end of the road.
